I posted a new thread earlier on the 6.0 forum and didn't get any responses, but I think I needed to put it here. The question is I'm going to order a new F250 this weekend and my friend's family is selling me the vehicle. They already told me over the phone they would give the X-plan price. I then built the truck on Ford's website and the price they quoted was less then invoice. I guess my question is what is a good price for me to be looking for in relation to invoice. Also if there is any other advice you could give me i'm new to these 6.0's and buying. Thanks for your time.
If you are buying from a friend (or his family) it's kind of tough to start busting their chops about the price but I think you can do better than invoice or X plan but enough better to risk creating an uncomfortable situation . . . probably not worth it if it is a gooood friend.
Also, if you end up buying something off the lot make sure the engine is an 04/04 with the latest upgrades
From my experience shopping for an F250, I have found X-plan price to be roughly $150 less than invoice. If you weren't dealing with friends, I am seeing guys really haggling getting up to $400 under X-plan. Either way, your pretty close to bottom dollar for a $40,000 truck. Are you using X-plan or is that just the price they are giving you? If you are not actually using an X-plan pin and you are ordering, you may consider joining the American Quarter Horse Association. After 30 days, you should be eligable for a $500 rebate. The membership costs $30 and you have to be a member 30 before delivery. Not eligible om Special Editions and such but it is food for thought.
Thanks guys for the info. I'm going to go sit down and crash the numbers with them. It is a good friend so like you said I don't want to creat an uncomfortable situation. But I have faith they'll come down yet. About the X-plan They were going to give me a pin # I don't currently have one. Thanks for the info on the quarter horse association we'll see what happens with the plan
