Question Air Intake mods

Is there any type of air box mods or something that I can do to my truck other than just a drop in K&N filter?

Yeah you could get destructive , pun intended and cut the bottom of the airbox off below where the panel filter drops in. That what I did and it helps alot with the sound and helps a bit in the mid to upper power range. I thought about going with an open element FIPK but like having the filter housing to act as a heat shield. This mod really helps if you have a good exhaust system.

I have a 92 302, I put the "snorkel from a 460 on mine. I goes from the core support straight to the airbox. Seemed to help a little plus cleaned up the engine bay

I know it may sound a bit cheesy, but has anyone removed the airbox and just put 2 K&N's on or something?

I'd like a nice air mod for my truck as well.

The only problems I see with running straight filters (no outside air) are Noise and the possiblity of leaning out in the summer do to high underhood temps.

It's fuel injected so I can't see it leaning out too much.

Does anyone have pics of the 460 snorkel mod?
It sounds similar to what I thought about doing with some PVC pipe routed down alongside or under the radiator.
