No Bilsteins...

Like I had previously posted I purchased a jack-it leveling kit with the Bilstein 5100 shocks. Well the guy from Jack-it called me today and tells me the Bilsteins are on back order until October... Wow I tought he was gonna say a week or two...... Anyway I am going to shop around for them but are the Bilstein's worth the wait? or should I go to somthing else I was looking at the Rancho 9000's but I was worried that the money was going into the control system of that set up instead of making a better quality shock?? any feed back would be helpful, I want the best shocks I can get...

I have a set of Doetsch Tech shocks I purchased after a little research here and some additional 4WD sites. I paid $35 per corner.
Have a look around here and on the Excursion site for the thread for more info.:-)

I contacted a guy at Donahoe Racing to see if they had the Bilstein's and he said that everybody was out of them because Bilstein is changing the design of the shock. So I asked him if it was worth the wait for the Bilsteins, because I was thinking of maybe going with a Rancho or perhaps something else , his opinion was that they were worth the wait because they are night and day differance than anybody elses shocks out there I think I am gonna wait and get the Bill's...

Plumr,

Besides, the new 5100s are coming in a bright brushed alluminum finish with black boots. They look sweet!! Now they look like a $100.00 shock. And Kreg's right, they make a big difference in ride quality.

You don't need to buy the control system for the Ranchos, only the shocks. Unlike the other brands, you can manually tune your ride to fit the conditions you're driving in. You can also buy the in-cab control at anytime you wish to upgrade.

Oh, and you don't have to wait 3 months either
