PROJECTS. A progressive disease...

("Dis-Ease" - (verb) 'Other than easy' A state of being in quest of something one is uncertain of...)

One truck began well. I'll be parting it out and leaving it to a stepson soon so that I can make my front line work truck bullet-proof after learning all I can from it. But I already see, or can visualise a truck I would much rather have and am visualising the steps I need to take to get to it.

Is this greed, or just a strange addiction?

Does it happen a lot?

Is it a dead end, or is it ultimately rewarding?

FTE minds want to know....

An F-100 to F-250 is a jump. Making a "mostly" F-350 out of an F-250 is another.

No one knows where it really ends...

My current project is an 83 Ranger, the small one, thats going to receive a HP transplant, in the form of a 302. The best part is that I get to do it with a friend, that is really interested in making her truck a real sleeper.

*Its not greed, though it may be an addiction. I see it more as a necessity. Beavers need to chew to keep their teeth sharp and in check - we need to think, design, fabricate and maintain to keep previously learned skills honed and to learn new ones.*

Does it happen a lot?

*It does to me and I see others with many projects like that. But not everyone is afflicted. Some have interests in other areas, some just commute between a dead end job and the t.v.*

Is it a dead end, or is it ultimately rewarding?

*Some go better than others but if you learn something about what you are doing or even about yourself then it is rewarding. If you finish it and get you use it then it is profoundly rewarding. If I could afford to buy a $45,000.00 truck every five or six years I wouldn't worry about working on the ones I have - but I also would not have learned a lot of things that have contributed to my job and other projects I am working on.*

Like so many other things its the journey not the destination that is most important.
