77 F150 Speedo

My 77 has a speedo that will go straight to 85 mph and everywhere else in between especially on a cold day. Anyone know about this??? What to do?

try some graphite lube in the cable housing they do this when they start sticking usually means its gonna break soonl also look for kinks or crushed cable housing

You need a new cable. The jumping is usually caused by a broken thread of cable somewhere on the cable. It causes the cable to catch and then jump.
