Rear Diff Leak
I have a 2000 Expedition 4X4 with 48,000 miles. I just noticed a leak on the front of the rear diff just behind where the diff attaches to the driveshaft. Is there a seal right there that has gone bad? Anyone ever have that problem?
I checked the fluid and its a little low.
Any reccomendations?

That's called a pinion seal and yes, it needs to be replaced as there is no fix except removal and replacement. I recommend an experienced drive train mechanic do the job because the tolerances on the pinion are small, and it's easy to do damage.
