I have seen a few Ford trucks running around with the "S" Sterling oval in place of the ford oval. I think this looks really cool/custom and would like to get a set for my 2002 Excursion - but i am having no luck. I called a sterling dealer - and they had no clue which ones would fit. I am sure SOMEONE on this site has them on their truck. All i need is a part number , and a place where i can order them from.
Please email me any info you might have at Joe_Caccavella@DSTOUTPUT.COM
Thanks ,
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 16-Aug-02 AT 01:19 PM (EST)]When Freightliner bought Ford's medium and heavy duty truck lines they renamed them Sterling. They've now pretty much discontinued the Ford based models and are basically rebadging Freightliners as Sterlings. (Think Ford/Mercury) The only exceptions are the single axle trucks up to the F700, I believe they are still avaialble, at least in Canada, badged as Fords and/or Sterling.
Guys,
I have the coveted Sterling emblem. I also have some Sterling Beer. Neither of which I can tell you how to get. I got the Sterling logo from a friend of mine. He was an engineer geek for NavInternational Truck and Engine Company (International Harvester for you old school boys). I told him one day how cool it would be to have a Sterling "S" on my SuperDuty. He agreed as he liked my Bad A$$ truck. A short time later he shows up with an envelope, tosses it to me and sez, kinda Clint Eastwood like,
"You don't know where you got this."
I say, "Got what?"
He says, "You catch on fast, hombre." still kinda Eastwood like.
I say, "Can I buy you a beer?"
He says, "Yeah, gimme a Sterling..."
