99 transmission problem

I've seen this same problem posted elsewhere but have seen no answers. My problem: transmission works fine till I sustain a constant 45-50 mph then the od/off light starts blinking, and it is still in overdrive. The tranny then down shifts hard into first gear when stopping and then shifts hard from first to second when accelerating (from stop). anybody have any ideas as to what is the problem. Would appreciate any help.

You will never get an answer if we don't know what you drive. Transmissions also vary by engine.

I would take it to autozone and have them pull the codes, see what they say. Usually when the o/d light blinks it is a sensor or the selonoid pack.
