torque converter & idle?

torque converter & idle?
well i changed my o2 sensor and my truck still surges at idle and dies. Could a bad torque converter affect idle? sometime my trannsmission does not catch off the line and i am pretty sure it is the torque converter because i had another truck do the same thing. but could it affect my idle or even when i come to a quick stop it will usually die.

Do you have a check engine light? I'm guessing you don't or you would've said. I personally would look at a lot of other things before the torque converter. It really sounds more like what I went through before I changed all the sensors. If it were me the first thing I would check is the throttle position sensor. If it's going bad the rapid change in throttle (sudden stop or stepping on it) will confuse the computer.

I'd probably put the TC last on my list too. If you have EFI, you should have a computer with codes stored. Start by pulling them. Also may not hurt to take a look at the fuel pressure. My truck developed a pretty good surge when the regulator shot craps. Of course it could be a whole host of other things, too

yea, my check engine light does flash only when you give her gas. about a month ago i put the code scanner to my computer and the only thing that came up was the o2 sensor which i have replaced with also a new fuel filter, air filter and pcv valve. even if the torque converter is not my idleing problem it still needs a replacement because it slips on initial starts here and there.
