Hello,
I have a 1997 Ford F150 with 87,000 miles on it. Recently it has been making a squeaking noise when I'm backing up. Can anyone tell me what is causing this? I just want to know before I call my mechanic so that they can trouble shoot the problem quicker.
Thanks,
Mike Milinski
My 92 2WD with a one piece drive shaft did the same thing at 120,000 miles. The needle bearings in the u-joints rusted up and sang a song whenever in reverse, never in forward gear. I've seen others have the same problem, and my mechanic recognized the squeak as a u-joint immediately. Seems to be a common problem
