I have just recently become interested in replacing the factory shocks on my 2000 F-350 SC, SRW, V-10. The truck is completely standard and I am not looking for lift or leveling. The truck rides rough but it has never really bothered me. I happened to see a new F350 FX4 at the local dealer the other night, and it got me thinking about custom shocks. They look good, which might be my motivation.
Will customs make a noticable difference in the ride? What do you guys recommend? I'm not towing or hauling heavy. Bilsteins? Rancho?
I put them on my truck a few weeks ago and I can't beleive the difference from the stock shocks. The stock ones are JUNK!!!!!!
You might have a hard time finding them as they are very popular, but go to the Bilstein website and look at their "links" section to find their dealers.
Since you're not hauling heavy loads, any of the "good" shocks will behave MUCH better than the stock junk.
Edelbrock, Bilstein, Rancho are all popular. I need the Rancho 9000's adjustability...you may not. Rancho's are also USA made. I think Bilstein is German(?), and I don't know about Edelbrock???.
I have a set of stockers for sale with 25 miles on them if you decide to go cheap
Bilsteins are German. They are also great road shocks. I have no data for off road use, but they are extremely heavy duty and do not foam like most others do upon heavy use.
