I am sure many of you guys have heard this topic before. I have search the threads and really haven't found a good answer yet. I apologize for the redundant topic.
I have a 1998 Ford Ranger 3.0 4WD Electronic Shift transfer case auto hubs. I can put it in 4Hi and it will slip out with 5 minutes of driving, or it will not even go in 4Hi. This also happens in Low. Wondering what the delima is. I have noticed that my front driveshaft is turning and my front axle turns. But, after a while, the wheels in the front just stop spinning. Is this a vacuum problem? If so, how can I test vacuum hoses/vacuum pump, etc.? Come on guys throw me some info. Thanking ahead, appreciate the tips.
Is this a manual t-case shift lever or button? If manual, when it slips out do you see the shifter move?? If so, I'd say that you need to adjust your linkage. Usually there is a set bolt closest to the body that you can loosen and play with the linkage.
