Hi Guys
Anyone know where the door switch on a 2000 4dr Ranger?
My door ajar light comes on every now and then when I'm driving.
Anyone else have this problem??
There are a bunch of post on this just do a search. However I beleive it is in the door where it hits the stricker mine did the same thing and I gave it some wd-40 but mine is a 96.
Don't use WD-40. It has a tendency to gum up after a short while. There are much better lubricants. WD-40 is a water displacement (WD) 40 (the 40th try buy the inventor). It works really well to displace water, but is terrible as a lubricant.

I disagree, WD-40 has worked very well for myself, and a lot of other people!!!! The WD-40 will evaporate somewhat, and will
not gum up. Other lubricants that do not evaporate will attract
dirt, and gum up.
The door ajar light on my extra-cab Ranger comes on if I (or passenger) haven't shut the back door firmly enough for it to latch tightly at both the top and bottom latches.
If you stop the truck (for safety) lean on the door slightly, and the door ajar buzzes again, it's probably the upper or lower latch didn't quite catch. Open front door, open and close rear door a little more firmly, and you're good.
When closing rear door, tug on it in the center, and look at door latches top and bottom. If there's any visible movement, they're not closed all the way. Lubricate or adjust as necessary.
