I have been reading the threads about failures and mileage. I have not seen anyone ask about where engine was assembled. I am assuming that there is more than one plant or they would not put that info on the label... any thoughts?
Just for info sake 03 250 torque shift, bad # 8 injector at 2500 miles (would not fire, no oil contam) at least that is what the dealer said.
Here is my history I posted on another thread here. No major problems.
03 F250 4x2 Lariat Crew Cab
Build date 12/02
Purchased 09/11/03 @ 1095 miles on Odometer
Rough idle following initial oil change at 5,000 miles (Motorcraft 15W 40)
October flash at 6,200 miles
Increased noise, lower power, smoke and smell, lower fuel mileage, exhaust vibration at idle following reflash.
Oil on bell housing (no drip) noticed at 7,500 miles.
Oil change at 10,200 miles. (Motorcraft 15W 40)
My engine was built in Huntsville on march 24 03 no problems at 10,000 + miles. Only problem is smoke on morning start ups but I can live with that don't even know if it is a problem.
Look at the top of the drivers side valve cover near the firewall. There is a label there with the manufacture date and engine plant location. You will probably need a flashlight to see it.
