Just wondering. I have heard of these thing blowing when people start messing with them. Did not seem safe to me. I was not trying to sound condensending.
I believe that if you leave the battery unhooked for a little while before messing with them, you will be of. I have removed them from a Continental before to work behind the dash.
Jimmy
you want to remove the airbags incase you have a collision..?
i'm not questioning your thinking or anything (especially with a name like tackleberry), but why on earth would you not want your airbag to go off if you had a collision.
the airbags dont just go off it you hit a dog or garbage can. it all works off of an inertia switch i believe. if big truck like yours to hit somthing hard enough to make the airbags pop, sombody is going to the hospital- and more then likely (unless you hit a semi) its going to be whoever you hit.
I have to question why you would do such a stupid thing. You have no Idea the prolems that creates. It is nothing but dumb. You must be very young or just plain uneducated.

Tackleberry,
I would be very hesitant to see folks use FTE to provide how-to info on removing the air bag. It is considered a critical part of the safety system of your vehicle. Too much liability from my
perspective. In the best interest of minimizing FTE's exposure, I'm going to err on the side of caution and lock the thread.
(In addition, the 4.6/5.4 forum isn't really the proper forum for requesting that information.)
mlaugh,
Welcome to FTE. Chill just a little on the accusations of one's level of education (implied: intelligence).
I agree, it doesn't sound like a good idea, but no need to talk down to other FTE visitors.
