Every two months or so my 2002 explorer sounds like a old squeaky mattress when going over a speed bump. Ford keeps replacing my front sway bar bushings and once again I went over a speed bump today and the noise is there. I must of had these things replaced no less than 8 times. This is really getting frustrating, its to the point where i want to sell it and never buy another ford. can anybody explain why this keeps happening?
Now, if the setup is the same as my 99, then you could try replacing the sway bar bushings with urathane bushings. As the rubber ones age, you get the squeeks that are heard. Hope that gives you something to look at. Let us know how you make out.
I have the same problem with my 02 Explorer. I took it in to the dealer and they are replacing the sway bar inlinks?? whatever that is, along with my timing chain tensioner for another problem. Will get it back in a few days
jhromy, energy suspension makes greaseable bushings for that problem, have a grease fitting on them, had same problem with a ford van ,havent heard a noise since!
