Transmission problem?
I recently purchased a 2002 F-350 4x4 PSD with the 4-speed automatic transmission. I noticed the other day when I was hauling about 600-700lbs of landscaping rock in the bed, that when I was in overdrive (I believe around 45-50mph) and rolled off and then abruptly rolled back on the throttle, the transmission would seem to hesitate slightly, and then engage with a bump/clunk. The dealer said this was normal when in overdrive. Can anyone here offer an opinion as to whether this is truly normal or not? The guy in the service dept mentioned something about the torque convertor and said that his f250 does the same thing. Thanks in advance.

I have a 2001 SD 4x4 4 door Dually with 41000 miles. This is my fourth such truck and I have never had one over 36000 miles. Well this time I decided I would drive it till the wheels fell off and low and behold as soon as the warranty ran out, so did the Tranny (auto 4 spd). One day I got in and it started shifting up and down and making a lot of noise and jerking the truck around. I drove it straight to the dealership and it was fried costing $3000 to fix.
My advice to all you SD owners is to get yours checked out before the warranty runs out.
