pin stripe color code needed
I need the color code that the dealership uses for the red pinstripe found on some blue/gold and black/silver two toned supercab F150's. It is the same color as the "F X" in the "F X 4" Off Road decal on the 2002's and newer.

The manual that I have doesnt show any stripes with red in them on either a 2001 or 02 truck.
Why do you need the code?
Can someone make up the stripes for you? Where I am we have a Trim-Line outfit that can make up pretty much any sort of stripe or decal you coudl need.

I have only seen this color stripe on the 02's and 03's. If you go to the users galleries section of this site and set the filtering to 2002 - F150 - 4X4, then click on the user N2BNHI (should be 7th from the top) for an example. I have never seen this up close in person so im not sure if it is a single red stripe or a two toned stripe like most F150s have where the other color matches the body color of the truck. The reason why i want the color code is because that color red matches the "F X" in the "F X 4" stock decal exactly which is the look i am going for. How close can the "Trim-line" outfit match colors? The guy at the parts dept. at the Ford dealership said i would need either the color code or the Vin # of a truck that came with this color stripe in order to make a match. Any more help or advice would be much appreciated.

The Trim-Line place here has tons of different shades of most colors and can match nearly anything. He does work for a lot of bodyshops, replacing stock stripes etc. Maybe see if anyone in your area does that too.

That code, "R", must be it because i have only seen the red pinstripe on F150's with dark gray trim. Do you know if when you order the stripe from the dealership, does it come pre-cut to match your body style (reg,ext,crew cab)? If so, can you get the "R" stripe for a SuperCrew? I am thinking the picture i directed you to before was a custom job because i have only seen this stripe scheme on SuperCab's. Thanks for the code information.

I got our partsman to look it up today and in 2003 anyway the tape code R was available for a SuperCrew. The stripe kits are specific to regular cab, super cab and SC trucks so it should fit like it was made for it.....it was
