I have searched the forum and have not found a whole lot of things pertaining to my tranny probs. My 91 ford (see sig.) has got some tranny probs. It has about 60,000 SMOH. This is what it is doing. Shifting to reverse no prob. Shifting to drive there is a hesitation and this is where the prob. starts. I take off down the road under normal accel. and it shifts 1 to 2 fine most of the time. When it is time to go to 3 it winds up real high then slams into 3 then shifts to 4 somewhat normal. While in 4 it will slip in and out of gear. About a 200rpm difference during the slip. When you go from a dead stop and accelerate hard it seems to shift ok 9 out of 10 times. I changed fluid and filter to no result. It also hunts for gears at very slow speeds, 5-20mph. Please help. I am trying to avoid a $1500 rebuild, I also believe that I am beating a dead horse. Could it be soleinoid packs?
