Without one you don't need a key It is located just above the oil filter, you can see the cord coming from the left side to just above the oil filter. The block heater screws into the housing.

My truck is from Texas. It doesn't have a heater and right now here it's 13 degrees outside. It wasn't high on the list of what the vehicle had to have.
I (and the truck) will just suffer til spring.

thank you for the help, I found the plug behind the bumper near the driver side tow hook.
