Going to work around 5 am , got about 5,400 miles on her and the flow of traffic was x-trem ly light , u know in these Trucks 70 sometimes feels like you r setting still and 80 on a long open haul is almost enjoyable, so i took her on up and right around 95 or so something told my healthy V-10 to hold them horses back, is this a governor or is this a computer command....................thanks
And guess what else happens if you do that in an late 02 or new /03
Superduty .internal in the computer there's a event recorder that stores this info now on how fast you were going,I found that out from the dealer
when they were investigating my manual tranny failure at 3,000 miles
they showed me a print out of this info.I only did 80 mph ,but they new about it.it also looked at rpms/vs speed to see if I was abusing the truck or dumping the clutch at high r's .good thing i wasn't.
That's invasion of privacy??????
wouln't ya think
Would you believe that a couple of days ago in a ford trucks newsgroup there was a guy trying to get people to support his class action lawsuit against Ford Motor Company for not disclosing that there was a governor on his truck at the time that he bought it. There used to be a time when a Hells Angel biker would beat you up, now they take you to court.

Does anyone know how long the system keeps data? I know that the book says that my auto tranny adjusts shift points based on the last couple hundred miles so I am betting they can get at least that much info.
