Will a 428 Cobra Jet bolt up to a C6 transmission? Will it fit into the engine compartment of a '79 F150? Is it worth swapping from a stock 351M? Advantages / disadvantages?
You need a FE C-6 Fits 352,390,428. should fit w/ some mods. bunch of tourqe. I hope your frame is in good shape ? 428CJ is a stock tourqe monster! Don't be cheep on engine mounts they will break!!! YO

Nope, C6 tranny's are engine family specific bolt patterns, since the bell-housing is integrated with the transmission (can't seperate the two).
They made 3 different designs; big block, FE, and small block.
If you can get your hands onto a small block C6, grab it. As they are hard to find and worth some money.
