Stronger block with more ribbing, variable cam timing, all new spark plug design, longer piston skirts so that there is no piston slap, valves in the intake runners that vary airflow velocity to make more low end torque and high rpm HP. Drive by wire throttlebody (no cable, computer determines the throttle angle for the most torque and HP.

The thing I noticed most about the new engine is how much louder it is! If you stand outside of one while it is ideling, you can hear the "Charge Motion Control Valves" (CMCV's) opening and closing. It sounds like valve train noise on a regular engine. The CMCV's are the vales that are in the intake runner's as mentioned on the previous post. They are designed to create a tumbling effect in the intake air for a better fuel/air mixture.
I'm sure they do all Ford says they do, but I think they could of figured out a quieter way to do it!
