Just got a notice that the Tirerack put the LT315/70R-17 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO on sale for $117.00 a piece.
These are the largest tire that can be put on the X with-out a lift. I have a set of these on my truck, and what a difference in ride from the stock 265's. Stability wise, traction and load distribution is much better.
That is 1.5 inches taller than a 285/75/16. Do they rub without modifications? How about off road or when the steering wheel is turned all of the way to one side? That is so close to a 315/75/16 it has to rub.
Yes it does rub the slighest bit under hard turn under braking. Don't bother me none. Just aware where it will and when it will rub and avoid it.
The best rid thus far with these rims (AMerican Racing Outlaw II's) got them really cheap on ebay, but their a bitch to balence with the tire on. Not many shops have a machine beg enough to handle a tire that big.
