Question oil pan

I know this question should not be here. But you guys have helped me in the past and I was wondering if anybody out there know anything about Dodge 360 cubic inch engines? I got a friend who just did a engine swap into a 81, went from a slant six to the 360. Anyway he had to change the oil pan because the engine he used came from a car. Something about the crossmember on the car and truck is different. He got a truck oil pan installed it and has already put in 5 quarts of oil and no trace of oil is on the dipstick. His question is how much oil does a 360 truck engine hold? I have tried to look it up for him on some of these mopar sites and dodge sites forums. But these guys just don't know anything. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Manuals will usually have capacity specs. Head down to the local book store to see if you can "browse" for the info. I'll see if I can catch my friend tomorrow. He's been around Dodge's for some time.

Sorry for the late response. I caught up with my friend yesterday. He says 5 or 6 quarts and definitely not 7. I guess that may not be the definite answer you're looking for.
