I am looking to build a system for in my truck but I dont want to sink a couple thousand into it. I mainly listen to heavy metal and I dont crank the system but I do like the sound of an amped system. I am mainly looking for 10's and an amp. I was wandering what you guys think of this package:
Sony Xplod Amplifier/Subwoofers Package
XM-2165GTX Car Amplifier
Two XS-L1000B 10" Subwoofers
Personally I'm not thrilled with Sony's line of products. But at least it's not Pyramid or something like that. It'll still give you the bass you want.
metal check out onlinecarstereo.com . I've bought from them before, they were pretty good to deal with. they have a lot more than crutchfield and I believe the prices are much better. crutchfield really isnt cheaper than going to a big name car audio retailer. so heavy metal huh? man you couldve gone with a couple pairs of amped 6x9's to do justice to Pantera or Megadeath. but i guess you already have a box for 10's. if youre not really concerned about "high quality name brand" stuff, and are looking for a good deal to perform a moderate upgrade to your vehicles sound system, by all means i would recommend going to best buy, circuit city, wal-mart, etc. just dont believe everything the salesperson says and remember you get what you pay for. take your time on it if you can. it took me about 2 months of looking and shopping around and listening and almost 3 months of buying and installing to get my system how i want it. and it was worth it.
