Airport rant

Airport rant
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Any other dads here that fly their kids back and forth for visitation? If so, you will have experience what I have: Most major airports (forget the smaller ones!) have made ABSOLUTELY NO BATHROOM PROVISIONS FOR A DAD TRAVELLING WITH TWO YOUNG GIRLS! I and my kids have to just hold it until we get on the plane. Thankfully, we at least get to pre-board because my youngest is three, so I always get us a seat at the very back of the plane, and use the restroom as soon as we get situated.
While that may not seem like too big of a deal, we've had to lay over as long as six hours at the airport for a connecting flight before!
I was stuck at Kansas City airport for seven hours Sunday night/monday morning waiting for a connecting flight to come in from Chicago. Luckily, I had dropped the kids off in L.A. the day before, because we would have been totally screwed! I didn't get home until 2:00 A.M.
Austin's airport has "Family" bathrooms, which is what we need. Dallas has SOME, but apparently only if you're in the American Airline terminal, which does me no good because I almost always fly Southwest. (cheaper)
Just wanted to vent, and see if any other dads here are in the same predicament.

I haven't had this problem but may in the future. I have a daughter and my wife and I are seperated and getting a divorce. I don't think either of us plan to relocate so hopefully I won't have to deal with it.

Just take them in the men's bathroom. If anyone says anything, tell them to shove it and find you a family bathroom.

Have we lost all faith in our fellow man? What's wrong with asking a respectable looking lady about to enter the ladies room with a load of luggage if she would escort your girls to the bathroom while you watch her luggage? Worked for us on many occasions, never a problem.

The thing is, you don't know who you can trust these days. Looks can be decieving. That respectable looking lady could be a kidnapper, or a murderer, or who knows what. Thats why I stand by what I said in my previous post.

I would take them in to the men's room with me. Maybe try and find an empty one though.

But, most bathrooms only have one exit. So, if you ask a women to take them in , you can feel fairly comfortable that they'll be ok.

Still, I wouldn't want to take that risk.

I would trust one of them, but he was talking about a fellow traveler with luggage.

Yes. It only takes one in a thousand to take your babies away from you forever. As far as airport security, trust me, they are too consumed with their duties to babysit your kids for you, and will avoid doing so.

Ask a lady employee from the airline you are flying on if she can help.
