F-250 ECU Location .....................
Hi all ,
Decided to order a Diablo chip for my truck . It's a 2002 F250 Superduty with the 5.4 Gas engine .
I received the chip today , but no instructions on where the ECU is located . Does it come out from the engine compartment or from the Drivers side interior ???
It looks like it's located behind the emergency brake , but I was told by someone you have to take it out from the firewall . Looking over there is a mess of wires and harnesess with no obvious way to get at the computer to add the chip .
Any advice is appreciated .
Thanks in advance .

Did you get it through us? I can't find a matching email address in our DB. If so, you should have gotten complete step-by-step instructions in addition to the stuff Diablo puts in the tube. Let me know your customer info (via email at webmaster at ford-trucks.com instead of via the boards) and fax number or email address you'd like me to send them to.

I cant speak for the '02 but my '00 F250 the pcm (ecu) is located behind the hood release lever on the firewall.
I, too, have a Diablo chip and have installed it, uninstalled it and reinstalled it several times. Its actually a very simple install.
Do a search for detailed instructions, but there is one bolt the needs to be removed from the engine compartment and one you figure out the contortionist move it takes to get at it, it's pretty easy taking it on and off
Good luck, if you have any questions, just ask...
