Hi all,my first post here.
I own an 87 Bronco with those horrible flange type hubs. One of them is shot,so I found a used set in great condition. My question is,should they be packed with grease like a wheel bearing,or just lightly to keep them lubricated? The ones I bought are loaded with grease and I want to clean them up and re-lube them.
Thanks.
The spring in your hub assembly is not a strong one. Too much grease and there is a good chance that they wont disengage completely resulting in a shredded hub. As you have already said...just enough to lubricate. All the friction is in the bearings.
