im pretty set on putting 42's under my truck now that the d60 front is close to being put under there. but ive heard that i might have problems with them hitting the fire wall when i flex, im not worried about the fenders, im hackin those off
You'd have to have some maaad flex for that to happen...and unless you went four link its impossible with our setups. Anyways, hack away and you'll be fine.
haha, didnt think any body noticed my absence... ive been on nc4x4.com forums a lot, just found them and its nice to ask local people questions about all the mods cause i can learn about places and people near by that can help me.
about the pics, just got a digi for xmas, but my comp is so retarded that its missing some file from windows to fully run the software for the camera... damn computers.
my truck is lookin kinda beat up at the moment, no bed... awaiting a full roll cage (and the money to do so). for the 60 swap im using james duff stage three arms for an early bronco *maybe* im callin james duff this week. making some taller coil hoops for some long travel coils and long travels shocks. twin stickin the 205, the 60 is in the shop for the 5.13's and a detroit right now, the 14bolt goes in for the 5.13's more towards spring break/uwharie OHV park time. lookin for a cheap 351 to stroke and build up, installed a stage 2 B&M shift kit in the c6, saving money for the disc brake conversion for the 14bolt right now. got a 1 ton CV shaft with 1410 u-joints at the diff with the drive line e-brake from High Angle, doing high steer, getting the arms from off road design, and doing hydro assist steering.
wow, thats all i can think of right now, and thats most every thing ive done since ive last been on this site. I CANT WAIT TO HIT THE TRAILS!!!
hehe i stole it from sumone on pirate, but oh well
only problem youl have with fitting 44's with little lift is the tires like to hit the body mounts up front...you gotta move the axle foward and hack some stuff off the front
i cant wait to se the pics, sounds like youve been busy....one day im gonna get someone with a digi cam to take some pics of mine and ill slap em on here
yeah, im moving the axle 1 1/2 - 2" forward. i called james duff today, their stage 3 early bronco arms and axle wedges will work perfectly for my rig. and i found lower spring cups on broncograveyard.com, and some 9" lift coils that im thinkin i might make some taller coil towers to keep it same ride hight but the bigger coil for more flex.
i was curious about that actually, cause i could understand why 9" springs would be stiff cause of the arch, but coils dont arch... they coil.. haha. so i wasnt really sure how the spring rate on coils worked, cause all its doing is adding more metal, not bending it in any different way or anything, i'll research it more as the time grows nearer.
my buddy (johndeereranger) went from the 9 inches to 5.5's from wild horses i beilieve, it lowered his ranger a good bit, and the flex with his wristed arm was much better
yeah im definatly looking into it more, im trying to find all the places that make coils for 78-79 trucks and going to call each one to figure out spring rates to see which one has the least for more flex.
