Need to Vent!!!
It's been my experience that some jurisdictions seem to put a priority on the mundane violations to generate revenue. The lesser the violation the less likely the personis to fight it. If that officer stops 20 people in a day and fines them $50 tickets all day long for things like a rolling stop or a brake light out, then he has just created $1000 in revenue for the day. Multiply that by 10 cops for 30 days and that's a whopping $300,000 for the month. That's just my take.
Where I work, we dont have the time or inclination to stop t,hat many.. and we have a major U.S. to Canada highway.
I agree that the LV cop was a dip***** but I gotta stand up for all of the rest of us. 99.9% of us dont give a rat's a** about bumper height.
And, just a reminder, at least in my state, the sheriff's department doesnt get any of the fine money.... citations arent suppose to be for profit....
Sorry about the diatribe but I dont want us all lumped into one basket.
Just my venting.......

Exactly why we should all go to court and consume $500.00 for every $50.00 ticket handed out, maybe this crap would stop.
Robert
I agree with you as far as it is troopers who can make the stops in a day. In the great democratic state of Maryland I can rattle off a few counties where it is the norm for troopers to use their time to generate as much revenue as possible and are evaluated against their revenue for the year. Official policy says that they don't do that but trooper friends of mine BEG to differ. No disrespect to all the hard working officers out there, they are just doing as ordered. Sorry if I offended anyone.
