I had a snowplow put on my '03 supercrew today and on the way home I noticed my outside thermometer is reading way high. When I got home I checked the thermometer in the house and it was 9 degrees and the truck said 57 degrees. Could the dealership have done something to cause this?
I would guess that the temperature reading is wrong due to warm air from the rad sitting in behind the plow. The temperature sensor is in front of the radiator. If the sensor is unplugged the gauge should read a constant -40*. Let the truck sit with the blade down for a while until it all cools off and then see what the temperature reads.
Yeah, on hot days, mine picks up heat when parked from the heat radiating off of my black paint, after I drive it for a minute, it comes back down to normal.

I've noticed some wacky temperature readings when I first start the truck, but it always reads the correct temp. after a few minutes of driving. What kind of plow did you put on your S-Crew? Does the front end sag much when you lift it? Have you tried it out yet? Just curious.

I had a Fisher 7-1/2 LD installed, it's their new light duty steel plow. It doesn't drop the front end much at all, maybe 1-2 inches and I have not had a chance to use it yet. Cold weather in last few days but no snow. But around here, it's a sure crop it will come soon.
My truckboard thermometer will give me an "ICE" indication at 38*F / 2C for a few minutes. After I drive the truck to the end of the road the temp may drop, but the "ICE" indication goes away. Thought ICE formed at 32*F / 0C at sea level... is there a "frost" sensor?
It just means to watch for ice, especially on overpasses which freeze before the roads do.
It will flash ice for a minute when in the 30's then just display the temp when started.
