Ive been looking for a soft top that I can use once it warms up but I can't find very many in the style that I like. Im looking for something that someone can still sit in the back seat in (I want to put a roll cage in that I can put the seat belts onto). I like the type on jeep wranglers. Ive seen some around. Where is the best place to find one and how much do they cost?
sometimes the best whay to go is custom prices around rhode island are usualy $700 too $800. find the material you want and find a shop that works with it.
skyler made one that required no drilling. There are some custom shops around the country that make tops also. If I run across them in my notes, I'll post them later.
I have the Specialty Tops unit, have had it about a year and it works great for me. I find that I run it a lot with the sides and back rolled up with the canopy in place overhead to give shade to my back seat passengers.
I also went the custom roll cage route and have the shoulder belts mounted to the cage.
Couldn't be happier, highly recommend the set up.
Top install takes a lazy weekend day, roll cage is more complicated.
I have actually been in the process of designing a soft top/roll cage unit for my resto project.......I figured it would be far better for me to design one and have it custom made then to buy one pre-man.....now i just need to find a interior guy to do the work for me...as soonas I get my design finished I will post it for all to see
Mine is a 93, the specialty tops website only has them for up to 91, thats because of the 3rd brake light and shoulder belts in the back right? Or is there another reason?
How hard would it be to modify the slashback top from the above mentioned website to fit a 1979 Bronco? I don't think the differences are that much but I don't have an 80 or later Bronco to measure for a comparison...

Hey Suds... Not to steal the thread but I thought of you over new years. I spent a weak in Mexico campin at El Golfo. Its on the northwest side of the Baja California Gulf. We camped on the beach and drove up and down all day long in our lifted Golf Carts and quads/dune buggies and such. Saw quite a few nice Broncos too... some big some 66-77 era. Thought you would appreciate it. I now know what you mean about drivin on the beach.... tons of fun.
