My father owned a 1978 Ford Pickup years ago. He passed away in 1988, we sold his truck at that time, but still have a few misc. parts in the garage. We came across some headers we believe were purchased to go on the truck. I need to know what size engine would have been in the truck. Can anyone help? Thanks!
Hi Eric, sorry, don't have VIN #, Dad kept indepth records on all his vehicles, but Mom gave all the paper work to the guy who bought the truck. I'm in the process of tracking him down, but that was almost 15 years ago. I don't know the make of headers, the only number I see is R 535. I know the truck was stock, Dad didn't do anything to it before he died.
I am pretty sure that they are for a 351m or 400.
Definitely not a smallblock (302 or 351W)
Not a 460 either.
Not an FE (360,390)
They fit a 73-79 F100 or F150 with a 351M or 400.
My husband took them to a machine shop and the guy said they fit on a 351M.
Again, thanks for all ya'lls help, I really appreciate it..now maybe I can get rid of these damn things!! One more thing out of the garage, maybe now the motorcycles will fit!!!
