Finally, something going right!

A couple of months ago, I posted about having a close call with my tranny. Apparently, I have a bad front seal that's gonna need replacing. Well, I have been trying to get it to hang together until warmer weather arrives (whenever that might be...tomorrow or in 2 months ).

Anyhow, in the past couple of days, the danged thing started to do a little slipping. Checked the fluid levels, and I was low (right below the hash marks), so I added a quart. She still slipped, and had me having kittens--I can just see me under this thing, freezing my tailfeathers off...

I stopped at my local Autozone for some Dexron III to have on hand, and happened to mention my problem to the manager. He handed me a bottle of Lucas' Transmission Additive (I think that's the name). I poured it down the dipstick (which took forever, as it is very thick, and it was only 45* today!).

By the time I drove a couple of blocks, I could feel the slipping stopping. The shifts were a little tighter, it didn't hunt for gears, and the best part is, O/D didn't kick in until almost 45mph! Maybe something was not activating properly, because I was getting O/D at 35mph on the nose. Usually wind up lugging the engine in traffic if I didn't turn the O/D off.

This stuff is supposed to stop leaks, so I am hoping I can make it to spring without having to crawl under there and pull the tranny. I know there's no such thing as a cure in a bottle , but consider this a big !

Sweet dude, I've used the stuff before and it's pretty good.

Wish some of my problems would go away by pouring some stuff on it.

I have used a SEA FOAM treatment and got amazing results, it must free up sticky parts in the tranny or something

If it were as high as 45 degrees today I'd spend th eday on my bike! Seriously, the Lucas stops slip is good stuff, and when you get your tranny fixed, there's a product called Motorkote that is just killer (well worth its $1/oz.).
