I haven't tried Royal Purple, but I have used the tune up kit from Prolong. I had an '82 Olds Omega as my last car, and when I got it, it ran so bad. I went to Canadian Tire and decided to pick up the kit. I drove about 15 kilometers to the shop, and the car had stalled on me 3 times, and that was with a fresh oil change, filter, fuel filter and wires and plugs. I put the kit in the tranny, fuel and oil, and within 5 minutes I noticed a signifigant improvment in horsepower. I can speak from experience, an oil change, or an additive can and alot of the time make a huge difference in reliability and horsepower increase.
