Help with 1994 Bronco
First of let me say, that I'm pretty ignorant as far as the Bronco.
The reason I bought one, is for the superficial reason that it has a great look to it.
I just bought one today. A 1994 XLT with 153,000 miles.
The body is very clean and so is the interior.
The previous owner added things like a brushguard, side step, after market fog lights, etc...It looks awesome I'm so psyched...
I paid $2500 for it, hopefully that is a good price.
Here is my first question.
There are some problems with it.
First of all the factory auto hubs are blown.
But from reading some posts it seems this might be a blessing in disguise, because it gives me a reason to change over to manual locking...
It seems that Warn and Superwinch seems to be the names that are being thrown around.
Anybody have a preference and why?
Also, what do I need to purchase besides the hubs.
From one website, it seemed like if I got the Warn ones, I need some kind of conversion kit. What is this conversion kit, and which one do I buy? They are selling a 3 screw auto hub conversion kit??
From the same website, it seems that the Superwinch ones do not need a conversion kit?? The website made it seem like, it just replaced the factory auto hubs. Is this true?
Any ideas?
Please be as verbose as you want, because I'm excited to be educated on the Bronco.
The other problems with the truck is that it needs rear brake work. It might have emission problems, because of a hole in a "crossover bar". At least that is what the mechanic said.
Oh yeah, half my dashboard doesn't light up.
Could somebody tell me what is my next step as far as maintenance, considering the mileage of this truck.
I just got an oil change, and the guy there said that the main rear seal had a slight leak, and said to do a "rear differential" service??
What would you do if you just bought a high mileage bronco, with no service records?
Oh yeah, also, when I start the vehicle up, or turn it off, or sometimes randomly, a weird siren goes off. The dealer thought maybe it was an internal radar detector.
Also, the power door locks don't work when the truck is turned off...only when truck is turned on.
Much appreciated!!

if you have more than three screws on your hubs NO conversion kit is nessacery. i use warn standard and they work fine. if you are gonna do some wheelin the the premiuyms would be a good choice because the engagement **** is brass and does not stick out past the hub so it is harder to break.
start your own maintanance schedule . change all fluids and filters, have the trans serviced and make sure they drain the converter.now you know when it is time to change fluids and perform preventitive maintanance.
