No Heat

Revently I found out that my truck was putting out no heat. I had some problems with it overheating near the end of the summer, so I had the radiator flushed, a new thermostat, a new temp gauge, and all the works basically. so i know the problem is nothing to do with those. The fuses are good too. I had it looked at because the truck will only blow out cold air and no hot air at all. I thought maybe there was some kind of blockage in the heater core, but the mechanic said he didnt think that would be the problem. So I was wondering if anyone had an ideas, or if it could in fact be a blockage or iif it is something else.
thanks

Check the heater hoses under the hood. Some models had a check valve operated by vacuum to block the flow of hot coolant to the core if the heater was turned off. This valve was frozen on my truck.

Have you moved the temp slide cable on the heater box to see if it is turned toward the HEAT position ?

Let your engine warm up and feel the hoses going to your heater core. This will give you a good starting put for pin-pointing a blockage.

Im surprised you didn't get this one dennis.

There are several threads about the heating problems, we covered this when it first started getting cold. You should search this. A common thing might be to install a T connector into the heater inlet line.
My brother solved his problem by going down to the carwash, cutting both lines, and blowing the heater core out with high pressure. Try to get to the parts hose and get some new hoses or at least repair kits before you cut them.

And it hasn't started leaking yet? That's alot of pressure for a heater core.
