Transmission type?
I have an 88 bronco. The transmission is automatic with an overdrive. My haynes manual says in 88 and up the transmission is an E4OD. The dealer says that they did not make them until 89? Who is right. Also the dealer asked me if the D on the shifter has a circle around it and mine does not. It just has a line under it, so then the dealer told me I have a C6 3 speed but my truck has four speeds and I know it because I count each gear. So could it be that the owner before me put in a different gear selector thing that is under the speedometer because to keep the truck from shifting into overdrive I have to put the shifter in between 2nd and Drive. My shifter guage reads PNRD12 if that is any help.
