Thanks for the quote! I also used Autolite in mine at 100000. Developed a miss at 117000 but I don't think the plugs are to blame. Used Autolite for years in an old '58 _hevy and others with no problems. Just have read that some people mentioned not to use them from this forum and others, maybe a post from a competitor.
So to sum it all up.......I should get the factory plugs from the Ford dealer, correct.
Just wanted to know cause I 'm changing mine out next week cause they has 132,000 miles on them & I haven't had a problem yet.
I bought a replacement set at the dealer for $5/pc. That's pretty cheap for platinum plugs, IMO. Since the originals went 123K, I didn't have a problem replacing them with Motorcraft plugs.
I didn't find the plugs all that hard to replace. The fuel rail over cylinders 7 and 8 was a PITA to get around, but my only real problem was the little bolts that hold down the COPs on those cylinders.
