Hi all, recently a friend comes to me looking for some help, because his F150 1986 + Electronic Carby + EEC 1 was having low fuel econnomy. After a few reserch I found that Ignition timing is not been controlled by EEC and it was caused because the EEC power relay was not pressent.
After install a new relay, timing works fine again and it seems to me everything is fine again, my friend is happy now but I have a big question:
Electronic carby works WITHOUT EEC ??? because EEC was not working and the truck still going on
I know EEC controls ignition timing, perform a fine tunning mixture, engine idle and some vacum selenoids also, then that carburetor could work alone??? of course, thats not the idea but in case of EEC failure
It will still run, The ecm uses the carb for TPS input. It has a mixture solenoid on the back of the carb but it will run without it, it just won't run at the right air/fuel mixture.

Uhmmm as I was thinking. Thanks for the clarifucation, by the way Do you know where I can find info regarding his carburetor? tune up, calibration, etc, etc...
