there was a thread a year or so ago on this... someone adapted a late model set to an older truck... try a search in the archives on 'delayed wipers' or something like that and see what you get...

I'm in the midst of rewiring my 56 and also adapting the wiper motor and controls from a 95 Windstar. It took me awhile to get a wiring diagram from the Ford dealer but it appears all I need to make it work are a couple of relays. I plan to visit a local salvage yard either this week or next and try to get whatever else I need. I used the controls from the steering column of the Windstar and made a braket to mount it under my dash. Hopefully all this works as planned but I really can't give you much more at this date. I think someone makes a two-speed delay aftermarket setup but not sure who sells it. I'm trying to get the multi-function delay setup from the Windstar. If you want I will let you know how it turns out.
