Question Air Intake and Filter Question

Can anyone recommend a good air intake and filter system to replace the stock one on my 01 F250 SD PSD 4x4. I'm new to the Ford SD family and I would just like to say this forum has been a huge help. I will also be installing a diablo sport tuner to go along with the new air intake, however, I'm going to have to hold off on a new exhaust for now ( toys add up haha). Please feel free to offer any advise on my choise of set up and any caution to programming selections.

As far as the intake goes, I'd recommend a TYMAR. They flow more air than your truck can use, and are relatively inexpensive. Regarding your mods, I'd strongly recommend that you install a downpipe, and/or gauges before adding the tuner. The tuner will help you produce more power, and along with that, more heat. The downpipe will help you keep the temperatures down, and a pyrometer will help you monitor the intake temp. Personally, I'd do both before adding either a chip or tuner.

Quadzilla...thanks for the information. I have read in some of the other post that if you don't go into the higher horspower settings with the Diablo predetor that you can go with out adding the bigger exhaust and gauges what do you think about? I have checked into the down tubes and they are realatively inexpensive but my with my nievety with the PSD, I was unsure of what it does or how hard they are to install. Again thanks for the advise.

Ford Severe Duty AIS. It's a direct stock replacement sold by Ford. A bit more expensive than the Tymar, but I like it because it looks stock, filters way better and I'll never have a warranty question.

For the rest, I agree with Quadzilla.
