302 to 351 conversion
Thanks to everyone who contributed to my post about converting a 302 to 351W.
Truck is a 1988 F150 Lariat XLT 4x4 extended cab long box. Had dual gas and propane and AOD. Busted a piston in the 302 and since propane won't help me pull the boat trailer, went to gas only.
Had a cracked exhaust manifold so used BBK shorty headers and custom exhaust with dynaflows. Dual exhaust down the passenger side with twin tail pipes back of the wheels. Looks and sounds great.
Didn't have to change the computer but did have to change flywheel, front motor mounts and the intake manifold, plenums, fuel rail and some fittings.
Got rid of the air induction system completely.
Redid the tranny and strengthened the torque converter. The transfer case was a beast! New old stock planetary kit was almost a grand.
Learned lots, spents, took lots of time. Couldn't have done it without you guys and if I can share something that helps anyone else let me know.
