steering box relocation
i have a 1949 ford f1 pickup that i have installed a 302 in. i have a problem now with my headers running straight back into my steering box and columnon the drivers side. could someone please tell me the quickest and easiest way and cheapest way to remedy this. i do not want to go with power steering though.thank you all very much

I had a 302 in my '48 with "shorty" headers from Hooker and had no clearance problems. They went straight down and the collectors and pipes went under the steering box. I started with an AOD and switched to a T10 4 speed and still no problems.
I still have the headers if you want them.

my problem is that i have the gt40-p heads and the only headers available are the ford motorsports that i have. and they dont go straight down they exit to the rear
