help!

I am new to FTEand am not entirely sure how this works, but...here goes.
My husband broke the interior door handle on his 95 F-150 and I have been assigned the task of repairing it. Looks pretty easy, but after looking at Chiltons manual, it doesn't give me much info. It tells you to remove the screw holding down the armrest pad and them remove the armrest. Sounds easy, but there must be some sort of plastic tab or something holding it in place. I don't want to pry the thing until it breaks. Any suggestions? And, after I get it off, what next?
Thanks for any useful info.

I think there's two screws that you have to take off before you can get the door pannel off, you also have to pry at the bottom to get it off. Do you have the power accessories or is it the XL model?

Thanks for your reply acerockola77! Yes, there are two screws at the bottom of the door panel and they have been removed, however, this is an Eddie Bauer model and has power features. So, I'm not sure how to proceed. Also, should I disregard what the Chiltons book says? It seems so vague. And it only discusses removing the padded armrest. Thanks for your help.

I have both a 93 and 94 f-series that are the same style as your 95. There should be 4 screws on the bottom of the panel, one in the armrest and one in the top right corner of the panel that is sunk in. Also, you may have to take the screw out that holds the window and lock controls. after you remove those, pull out on bottom of the panel to dislodge the clips that hold the panel in place. After all the clips are free, lift the panel over the lock button on the top left to free the panel. when you get it apart, you may want to unhook the light to the door on the bottom leftside of the panel. All you do is turn the plastic piece counterclockwise and it'll pop out. Then just take a 5/16'' wrench or socket and remove what is left of the old door handel, and put in your new one.

Thanks!

Thanks 'ajf250' for the help...It was a struggle for a while-I had to do a little door wrestling, but I got it in and now the door fits better than it did before. I appreciate your help.
