Engine sensor probs??
The other day the truck decided to stay open throttle on me. I shut it off and started again and it was fine, I'm wondering if the TPS would do that if its on its way out the door. It stays idling high for quite awhile, then it kicks down once it warms up good. Every now and again just after I start driving, it starts to chug a bit then it jumps up to its normal idle and all is fine. Could it be the TPS that can cause this. Other than that the truck treats me relly good, it starts with little hesitation when its minus 30 celcius out, without being plugged in. I have an 86 2.9 in an 85 shell with about 205000 kms on the motor in case you need to know.

85B2, if the TPS was sticking and showing a higher voltage than expected to the ECM, I suppose it might idle high. However, you could first try removing and cleaning the IAC (idle air control). It sounds like it may be sticking open and giving the fast idle.
