I have a 99 f250 v10 why is it so anemic in power compared to the 2000 and up v10's that I have driven? Has anybody heard of an ecm swap to the later year to get the power up from 285 to the 300-sum of the 2000? Any help would be helpful.
The hosepower increase was found in the heads and cam.A chip will surely help.It is also probably the cheapest HP per $ improvement you're going to find.Headers and a cat back will also help, but your out of pocket expenses are quite a bit higher than a chip..For what it's worth my Banks power pack equipped 96 460 had more a$$ to it than my stock 02 model. But,in all fairness the 96 weighs less.
