Short in Steering Column?
I drive a 1995 Eddie Bauer f-150 4X4. My speed/cruise control stopped working about a year ago. Shortly after I had a break light come on. I discovered the speed control switch to be bad and replaced it. The speed control worked for about two weeks then a fuse blew. The fuse is connected tot eh speed control (of course) and the flashers. I simply disconnected the cruise control from the brakes (cutting of the ABS feature as well). When I attempt to use the flashers a fuse blows and the turn signals do not work afterward. I've been lucky by tapping the steering column and getting the turn signals to work again (did this twice)
What do I tell the garage and what should I expect to hear from them? It's an older truck and is working fine without ABS and Speed Control...but a cheap fix would be sweet.
