Borla Cat-Back Exhaust

Does anyone have a Borla #14823 dual exhaust installed on thier rigs? I just purchased one.

I am looking for feedback on this setup. Any concerns or complaints? Any performance gain? What is the exhaust tone like? I am planning to install Borla headers (V10) in the spring, does anyone have the complete Borla exhaust setup. I really wanted to go with the complete Banks powerpack, but I could not justify the cost. I think I stoled this cat-back: $300.00 new, in box.

I have done a few searches for this topic; haven't come up with much info.

I have both Borla single exit cat back and headers. The sound is very mild. OK for me. The cat back has about 110,000 miles on it and is in great shape. No signs of rust or falling apart. My shiny SS tip didn't last too long tho. The heat discolored it and the road grime stained it so I gave up trying to keep it clean. The headers have about 63,000 miles and are also in great shape. Worth it IMO. $300 is a great price on that cat-back. Cheapest I've seen it is a lil over $600.

Thanks for the reply V10man
This cat-back that I bought, are you familiar with this part #:14823? Borla descibes it as Split Side Exit. Does this mean that it will have a tip on each side, (which I would prefer) or dual tips exiting in the stock side location?
I do not have the exhaust in my possesion, just won the ebay auction. I am just trying to prepare for the installation. I hope I do not have to remove my spare tire, if it does exit on each side.

Smokin',

$300 is a great price! Yep, you stole it!

Regardless if you have the split dual rear or the dual tips on one side exhaust, you'll have a great cat back system. Even if the spare is in the way, you can have a muffler shop fabricate tubing around it using stainless stell tubing just in that small area to get around the spare tire. I thought of doing same, but I didn't want to spend the bucks on the Borla system.

Congrats on your purchase. BTW, I'm sure you won't have many problems. I bought the Gibson "swept side" (one tip behind passenger side rear tire; same as stock location). Everything went in very well. So, if Gibson can do it, I'm sure Borla can do it just as well. I installed it by myself in about 2.5 hours. It was actually enjoyable because everything fit so well. The toughest part for me was disengaging the rubber hangers from the stock exhaust. A couple places were tough to get a good grip on. WD-40 helped that...

Good luck and congrat's again on your great buy...
